Healthy Snacking

Unhealthy snacking is something we all do, I used to do it myself  until I put a stop to it 2 years ago. The real purpose of snacking is to take the edge off hunger that suddenly comes along before meal times without exceeding your everyday caloric needs.This careless snacking offers you no nutritional benefit and can take you over your daily energy requirement which isn't exactly ideal. It can lead to weight gain if you tend to snack out of habit, boredom or stress; and can also cause tooth decay if you're particularly fond of sweet, sticky and carbohydrate-rich foods. I know it's easier said than done but why not swap that creme egg for a healthier, more nutritious snack?

I'm a huge lover of fruit and you can be too! This is what my snack bowl tends to look like and it is pretty basic; grapes, strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. If you prefer to have other fruits instead, go for it. This tiny yet nutritious snack will tide you over till your next meal and will help prevent you from overeating at meal time. It's a win win situation!
