Homemade Molten-centred Fairycakes for Mother's Day!

Yes unfortunately, this is a late post. Moving on, fairycakes are so so easy to make! These bite-sized beauties are perfect for tea parties but are definitely better given as gifts and that's exactly what I baked them for today! Since it was Mother's Day 2 weeks ago, I made these for my mum and my boyfriend's mum too. A few of these fairy cakes were for my mum but the vast majority were for my boyfriend's mum. She's been so nice to me and since I've been accepted into the family; it was only right that I make her a few goodies just to show my appreciation. Here's a quick recipe on how to make these cute little treats.

Sunday Brunch: Flan Case!

Happy Sunday! I had a wonderful lie in today thanks to the best cuddles ever! I was chosen by a friend to bake a very special Birthday Cake for her other half which is what I've been up to this morning. Because I was preparing my ingredients and getting creative; I forgot about breakfast! This is where Brunch comes in, I've prepared a Flan Case topped with all our favourite fruits.

Dinner for two: Lobster!

No, this isn't Burger and Lobster; just my very own kitchen and a meal that took me less than an hour and a half to prepare. The funny thing is my boyfriend and I actually have a dinner booking this weekend at Burger and Lobster; might as well do a restaurant/food review after our visit whilst I'm at it. Anyway, I've always thought that Lobster was overrated and overpriced; now I say it's not when you make it yourself at home. He rocked up to my house yesterday with this badboy and it was pre-cooked/frozen so after a long day defrosting, I cooked up a meal for us. The main attraction being his most favourite thing in the world.. Lobster! Here's a quick recipe on how to prepare and cook your pre-cooked Lobster.

Getting ready for Spring with MakeSpace!

Spring is just around the corner, it officially starts in 12 days and I could not be happier but alas, there is always downfall. Where am I going to store all those thick, beloved winter coats, boots and knits that have kept me nice and snug through some of the coldest winter nights? This is where MakeSpace comes in, an on-demand STORAGE service that picks up, stores, and delivers your stuff. Through the use of their app, you can tell them to bring you whatever you need out of storage whenever or vice versa! I am so ready to dig out my fishnet socks and pretty flat mules; bare some leg in gorgeous bright print skirts and of course, a pair of kitten heels would not go amiss.

Happy Mother's Day: My Homemade Victoria Sponge Cake!

Happy Mother's Day to all you lovely mothers around the world! A mother is the one truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, she is the one person who will stick by us. & for that reason alone,  Mother's Day truly deserves to be celebrated.
I celebrate the one strong woman who brought me up all on her own; see, my father died when I was eight so my mother took it upon herself to be both for me. For this, I am eternally grateful. Besides, I haven't turned out too bad. The past couple of years, I've been buying my mum gifts but this year, I wanted it to be personal and so I baked her a cake this morning. It took me 3 hours, that's from the mixing of ingredients to baking and decorating. I'm not exactly complaining because I absolutely love baking but it does take a lot of patience. I even went as far as purchasing a cake box to transport my work of art; with my driving it's surprising that it got to my mum's house it one piece. Anyway, the cake was delicious and my mum loved it so it was all worth it. She'll be munching on that for the next three days.

A bowl a day!

Breakfast is always such a joyous time for me; it is my favourite meal after all. A good breakfast fuels you up by giving you the energy you need to take on the day. You'll also be surprised to know that skipping meals in general, breakfast in particular can actually make weight control very difficult. Think about it, you're more likely to nibble on unhealthy snacks before lunch simply because you are hungry and there is a chance of overeating at the next meal. A wholesome breakfast is therefore a requirement every morning;  by recharging your body and of course your brain, you become a lot more efficient and attentive. A bowl of oats is my go to breakfast and that's what I had this morning; throw in a few bananas, strawberries and blueberries and you're good to go. It's not hard is it?
