Reasons why you should drink Green Tea!

Just thought I'd share my typical breakfast which usually consists of Oats, bananas and lots of green tea. Undoubtedly the healthiest beverage on the planet, Green tea can offer quite a few health benefits that will make you think twice if you don't already drink it! Because green tea is not fermented during the manufacturing process, its healing and health protecting compounds to stay largely intact which is a huge advantage in comparison to black tea. I have been drinking green tea for to years now and honestly, I love it. Besides, it is filled with nutrients and antioxidants that do wonders for your body. Here is a list of some of the proven reasons why you should drink it..

 Boosts Metabolism:
 Green tea increases fat burning and boosts the metabolic rate. It is packed with catechins, . When your metabolism is high your body will burn more energy, which can help you lose excess weight.

Improves Brain Function
Green tea does contain Caffeine but, here is the good part; it contains just enough to brighten your mood, but not enough to trigger sleepless nights. An average cup of green tea contains about 20 mg of caffeine, whilst black tea contains approximately 40 mg. In this case, you'd obviously go for the green tea right?

Green tea apparently helps regulate glucose levels slowing the rise of blood sugar after eating. This can prevent high insulin spikes and resulting fat storage. 

Heart Disease
 Scientists and studies suggest that green tea works on the lining of blood vessels, helping them stay relaxed and better able to withstand changes in blood pressure. It may also protect against the formation of clots, which are the primary cause of heart attacks.

Tooth Decay
Studies suggests that the chemical antioxidant “catechin” in tea can destroy bacteria and viruses that cause throat infections, dental caries and other dental conditions.
