Okay, so lets be realistic, we do not give out faces the tender, love and care they deserve or at least the TLC they need. But it's a tough market for beauty brands out there, survival of the fittest! It's hard to figure out what products will work for your skin as beauty launches come and go. However, there are some iconic products that are proving hard to beat; ones that will stand the test of time. I finally made a way overdue trip to The Body Shop for some cleansers, exfoliators etc, you name it, I got it. Its about time I started paying enough attention to my face, downside, this has left a big dent in my bank account.
You may not see it but your own skin is actually clogging your pores; thank goodness for these amazing things called exfoliators. An exfoliator removes the make up, dead skin and any other products that are trapped in your pores which keeps you looking younger for years. From what I've seen and read, Vitamin C Microdermabrasion is one of the best and is suitable for all skin types. Unfortunately, it is not suitable for sensitive skin. It uses tiny rough grains to slough away the outer layer of the skin. It's really easy to use and should not be applied more than twice a week. I purchased this for £13 and just started using it today. It only takes around 60 seconds to exfoliate so no excuses. I'll be sure to keep you updated.
Yes ladies, our faces are filthy! Most of us begin our day with a brisk flash of water and end it by rubbing ourselves with a soggy flannel. These faces are groaning from a hard day at work/university so don't you think is time you invest in a good cleanser? After doing a little research and of course seeking advise from the Body Shop store consultants; I settled for Seaweed deep cleansing facial wash, clarifying toner and day cream. These three work best together (£26), cleanser first then toner, lastly the day cream to moisturise your skin. As if Seaweed products weren't enough, I only popped into boots and purchased two facial scrubs too.
No "facial" shopping trip is complete without bagging some old faves; Maybelline New York Dream Matte Mousse Foundation and MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation. These are the only two foundations I use and now are you ready for one hell of a shocker. Well, I actually use them both on my face at the same time, Matte Mousse being my base and MAC on top; literally a match made in heaven. Why did I not think of this before?! What I love most about these two is that they look absolutely flawless on and they last me two whole months. I'm £55 down but I'm all stocked up for the next two months; here is to brighter, more radiant skin.
It would be really interesting to find out what your favourite cleansers are and why.
Hope you are all having a wonderful week!
